Understand the full bill

# The fee is only
one part of the cost.

Separate the recurring employment bill from deposits and one-off charges. Use the same assumptions for every provider.

## Build an illustrative monthly budget.

All inputs below are editable assumptions, not German statutory rates or a provider quote.

The default example totals €6,750 a month and €81,000 a year. Enable JavaScript to change the inputs.

The 23% allowance is an arbitrary planning input. Actual contributions have different rates, caps and exceptions. Zero deposit and zero FX are starting inputs, not evidence that either is free. VAT, exceptional termination costs and one-off setup charges are excluded.

## Ask for six separate lines
- Gross salary. Employee tax and employee social deductions come out of gross pay. Do not add them again as employer costs.
- Employer contributions. Request a current employee-specific breakdown covering social insurance, applicable levies and accident insurance.
- EOR service fee. Record currency, billing cycle, discount conditions and minimum commitment.
- Benefits and extras. Identify pensions, equipment, expenses, insurance and paid add-ons.
- Currency and payment costs. Confirm the rate source, timing, margin and amount converted.
- Deposits and exit terms. Separate refundable funds from non-refundable charges and document the refund timetable.

## A small currency margin adds up

In the default example, a 2% margin on the full €6,750 equivalent subtotal adds €135 a month, or €1,620 over a year. This is arithmetic, not a claim about any provider’s fee. Change the FX assumption above to explore it.

¹ Per employee. Euro amounts are rounded conversions, not provider EUR quotes. $1.1355 = €1, [ECB reference rate, 29 September 2026](https://www.ecb.europa.eu/stats/policy_and_exchange_rates/euro_reference_exchange_rates/html/index.pt.html). Global starting fees may differ in Germany. Salary, employer costs and extras are additional. Unknown fees sort last.

Default budget example: €5,000 salary + €1,150 employer allowance + €500 service + €100 extras = €6,750 monthly, €81,000 annually. All assumptions are illustrative.
